WHAT 'S  PROHIJAR

PROHIJAR is a private non-profit entity that offers integral protection and quality of life to Colombian girls of limited resources exposed to conditions of life that limit their development, providing them with a temporal home based on love, dignity, respect, personalized attention, and guaranteeing their rights while their family reintegration is reached.

STARTING  POINT

The idea began from a group of young people convinced of the active role that we should adopt as Colombian persons in front of social problems of our country, and in front of people who require our collaboration.

In February 1995, the PROHIJAR Corporation was incorporated with the advising of Mr. Francisco Herrera , and with the collaboration of Br. Raymond Schambach (Fundación Hogares San Francisco de Asís/ San Francis of Asis home Foundation). Activities were initiated with a group of ten girls.

During the first months PROHIJAR was located in Suesca
( Cundinamarca , Colombia ). On January 1996, it was transferred to Cajicá ( Cundinamarca , Colombia ), where it is located nowadays, and where its own headquarters operates thanks to the collaboration of several people and the Asociación de Oficinistas Colombianas (Colombian Clerks Association).
