The idea of creating PROHIJAR DIA arose from the preoccupation of giving answer to some of the family problems of the Cajicá population, exposed in the Development Plan of the municipality, and from a specific necessity of the Family Commissaryship.

PROHIJAR DIA will be a center of attention for the most vulnerable childhood of Cajicá through personalized work and with the family. Girls and boys may come to PROHIJAR DIA after attending school in order to have supervised adult accompaniment and supervision, to receive orientation with school homework, to play with classmates, to participate in sports, ludic and cultural activities, and finally to go back with their families after receiving a snack. Parallely, these girls and boys will receive psychological and emotional support in case they require them, and parents will benefit from directed workshops.

PROHIJAR has developed several products and activities that contribute to its financing:

CHRISTMAS CARDS: drawings on the cards are elaborated by PROHIJAR girls and they yearly go for sale on September. They can be personalized according to the buyers' necessities.

SUNRISE PROHIJAR CERTIFICATES: acquiring these certificates you provide the person who receive it with the best gift or acknowledgement to commemorate an important occasions (child births, passing away, birthdays, etc.) which is economically contributing with the well-being of unprotected Colombian childhood.

MOVIE SHOWS: In order to collect funds, PROHIJAR yearly organizes a movie show presentation in which a feature movie is premiered.
